Every Christian should stop to assess the following: - Does my business always exemplify the Christian life? - Will every one of my actions, day after day, be a witness to Christ? - Can I do my work and honor God? - Does the company I work for deal ethically with others? - Am I helping others to violate principles that I believe? - Am I really providing a service or simply satisfying my own ambitions? Those are questions that every Christian must deal with if his work is to honor God. For instance, I believe the insurance trade can be a great service for families. But so often it is promoted on the basis of profit for the salesman rather than the needs of the client. Frequently individuals are sold too little insurance at too high a price, or too much insurance altogether. Few salesman provide the quality and quantity of insurance that fits the exact needs of the buyer. Certainly it takes more time and effort, but in the end, not only will the salesman prosper, but the buyer will be representative who will refer many more people to him. Galatians 6:9, “And let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we shall reap if we do not grow weary.” 5. Establish a Sharing Plan. One of the first goals a Christian family should establish is to tithe the first part of their income. This step is sometimes the most difficult, but it is also the most rewarding. Why? Because it is a material testimony to a spiritual commitment.
